From Beyond Protocol

Select your Research Facility, and click Techs

In the Research Management Windows, click Prototype

Prototype, basic Components

Name: MyFirstPowerGen

Hull: MyFirstPowerGeH

Engine: MyFirstEngine

Click Submit

After your facility finish designing (you can tell from the progress bar of the research facility), you will be able to view in the research management window.

In your Research Management Window:

Select Prototype, Facility, MyFirstPowerGen

It would indicate as "Designed'

Highlight it.

Choose View Result, then click Research
